GBS to support Navy's Machinery Information Technology and Testing
Virginia Beach, VA – September 30, 2009 – The GBS Group, an engineering consulting and technical services firm, today announced the award of a prime contract with the US Navy worth more than $13M for machinery information technology and testing. The GBS Group will provide engineering and information technology support services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division - Ship Systems Engineering Station (NSWCCD-SSES) in Philadelphia, PA. NSWCCD-SSES is the Navy's principal test and evaluation Station and In-Service Engineering Agent for Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical ship systems.
Through this new contract vehicle The GBS Group, along with teaming partners, will continue to support NSWCCD-SSES technical programs including Data Acquisition Systems, First-in-class testing, Submarine Maintenance Management Information System (SMMIS), Digital Video Surveillance Systems (DVSS), Information Assurance (IA), Total Ship Information Management System (TSIMS), Ship's Force Information Management System (SFIMS), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Root Cause Failure Analysis.
The $13 million contract has a two-year base period with one two-year renewal option. Systems, Inc., NDI, General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), SAIC, STI Technologies Inc., VSD LLC, T-Solutions, Inc., and The McHenry Management Group (TMMG) in the successful proposal for this work.
