GBS to provide environmental engineering support
Virginia Beach, VA – September 29, 2008 – The GBS Group, an engineering consulting and technical services firm, today announced its latest award of a prime contract with the US Navy. GBS environmental engineers will provide support to NAVSEA's Environmental Management and Policy Division under the contract.
The GBS team will assist NAVSEA in developing Navy/DoD standard operating procedures and environmental guidance documents for the Naval Warfare Centers; in benchmarking, measuring, and reporting ESOH program performance; in conducting formal audits/evaluations and monitoring implementation of EMS of NAVSEA facilities; and in developing/reviewing range assessment documents and reports to determine compliance with environmental laws, regulations and Navy/DoD policy.
The total contract amount is approximately $2M if all options are exercised. "This is a great opportunity for the GBS Team to apply our Warfare Center and EOSH experience to NAVSEA programs.
