The GBS Group Supports Military-oriented Nonprofit Organizations

Charity golf tournament benefited the Wounded Warrior Project

Virginia Beach, VA – May 19, 2011 – The GBS Group, an engineering and technical services consulting firm that serves customers in the Defense, Energy, and Rail industries, is honored to have held its first charity golf outing to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors of the United States Armed Forces. The four-man, best-ball format event was held at the Ramblewood Country Club in Marlton, NJ and raised over $5,000 for the WWP.

"It's gratifying to know that we can all bond as an organization, as well as support those who have risked their lives and sustained injuries to allow us to do so" said Bob Golden, CEO of The GBS Group. "Each of us at The GBS Group appreciates what our military does for America. We can never thank them enough."  This inaugural charity golf event attracted about 50 players and nearly two dozen sponsors.

The Wounded Warrior Project works to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs. More information on this project can be found at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

“GBS blew me away with their persistence and technical discipline. They solve the root causes of machinery and rolling stock failures. They are very hands-on and deeply analytical."
— Vince Nesci, former Chief Mechanical Officer Amtrak
