The GBS Group, an engineering consulting and technical services firm, today announces the latest award of a prime contract with the U.S. Navy to support In-Service Engineering (ISE) and Life Cycle Management (LCM) tasks for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Ship Systems Engineering Station's (NSWCCD-SSES) Environmental Quality Systems. GBS will provide senior engineering, logistical, scientific, programmatic and technical support to the Oil Spill Prevention Initiative (OSPI), Oil Pollution Abatement (OPA), Non-Oily Wastewater (NOW), Solid Waste (SW), and Hazardous Material Control and Management (HMC&M) programs. The GBS team is proud to continue its' support of NSWCCD-SSES. This contract will allow GBS to support some of the Navy's challenges with respect to shipboard environmental equipment. GBS is also supporting NSWCCD-SSES in developing a web-enabled knowledge-management system to support equipment operational availability analysis and inspection tracking.
"The GBS Group has been successfully supporting this kind of work for the Navy for the past four years, and we are honored to continue to serve our customer," noted Brian Trees, GBS Vice President, Maritime | Navy division. "This latest contract win demonstrates a tremendous amount of confidence by the Navy in GBS' ability to support complex and important environmental programs."
GBS teamed with NDI Engineering Company, BMT Designers & Planners, Inc., SAIC, Valkyrie Enterprises, LLC, and Vaughn Management and Services for this proposal to provide a broad and deep team. The majority of the work will be carried out at GBS offices in Philadelphia and Marlton, NJ, as well as on-site at NSWCCD-SSES Philadelphia, and locations in Norfolk VA, East and West coast homeports, and new construction yard facilities.
